Report
Harold Shipman was a family doctor in Hyde, near Manchester. For over 20 years he killed his patients, mostly elderly women, with lethal doses of diamorphine. He was caught in 1998 after forging a victim's will. Convicted of 15 murders in 2000, a public inquiry later attributed around 250 deaths to him. He took his own life in prison in 2004.
