Beverley Allitt was a nurse on the children's ward of a hospital in Grantham, England. Over a few weeks in 1991 she murdered four children and attempted to kill several others by injecting insulin or potassium. Given multiple life sentences in 1993, she is held in a secure psychiatric hospital. Her case led to changes in how medical staff are vetted.
