Report
From the 1920s until 1954 Nannie Doss poisoned successive husbands and relatives with arsenic. She said she had been searching for the “perfect romance” from the magazines she loved. Suspicion arose only after the death of her fifth husband, whose autopsy revealed poison. She often laughed during questioning, hence her nickname. Sentenced to life, she died in prison in 1965.
