At the age of 15 (1964) Edmund Kemper killed his grandparents. After his release from a psychiatric hospital, between 1972 and 1973 he murdered six young female hitchhikers around Santa Cruz, then his own mother and her friend. He called the police himself and turned himself in. Standing over 2 metres tall and highly intelligent, he is serving a life sentence in California.
